Re-inventing ourselves!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to completely change your existing life, have more freedom to do the things you want to do, maybe reinvent yourself and try to do something entirely different?

Three years ago we wondered the very same thing! We decided to give up our comfortable but stressful lives in the UK, to move to France and pursue a dream. We wanted to buy a small farm and live a simple homestead life. Yet things didn’t go according to plan and fate intervened and we ended up buying a small château, needing major renovation works. During the renovation process, every day we would try to tell ourselves that adventure is essential to live a full life, especially during the hard times.

Brexit and the pandemic brought new challenges to those like us who were trying to build a new life in France. Yet since our move in December 2019, we have given everything we have to bring our small, but beautiful château back to life. Our dream was two-fold. To primarily be able share the château and its idyllic setting with as many as possible, and secondly to create a micro-farm, to provide wholesome and nutritious food to our guests and local families.

During the renovation, we continuously learned new skills and surprised ourselves at what you can really achieve, even with only just the two of us trying to make this dream happen. In between renovations projects, we have opened up each summer for a short season, and hosted guests from America, Belgium, the UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland and France.

We are very grateful to everyone who has shown us all their support so far, including new and old friends, our fantastic guests and even many people we have yet to meet.
